Founded by Dr. Goodluck Ijezie-Desbois, a 7th grade science teacher with a PharmD background, The Scholar's Ascent emerged from a powerful personal journey. As the child of African immigrants and a foster care survivor, Dr. Ijezie-Desbois transformed obstacles into opportunities—overcoming bullying, language barriers, and family separation.
As a first-generation college graduate, he understands the unique challenges students face. Now, he's building a platform that equips students with the strategies, confidence, and leadership skills they need to thrive academically and beyond.
