Where Weekly Homework Comes From
Algebra I and Geometry homework comes from two books: Skills Practice pages due Thursday, and notes on the Student Edition due Tuesday and Thursday.

Notes from the Student Edition
Twice a week, scholars take notes on one lesson-day of the Student Edition. Each notes assignment names the lesson, the day, and the printed pages, and links straight to that lesson’s slides and the first Student Edition page.
- When it is due
- Tuesdays and Thursdays by 11:00 PM. Day 1 of every lesson is a definitions day: “I am looking for definitions.” Take the definitions from the lesson’s Getting Started; each assignment lists the terms. Late notes are not accepted unless Dr. Ijezie extends the due date.
- How it is graded
- 10 points, graded automatically against that day’s rubric: definitions in your own words, examples, key ideas, and organization. Copying the book word for word does not earn credit, and length alone does not earn credit. Unclear photos and unsure results are checked by Dr. Ijezie.
- Learn to take notes
- Method Academy teaches 12 note-taking methods. You can also write your notes in Note Studio; for homework notes it keeps track of active time and typed versus pasted text, and pasted text does not count as your own words.
- Where to turn it in
- Assessment Center → Assignment Turn-In. Upload clear photos or a PDF of your notes, or choose a Note Studio note.
- Find this week’s work. Open Course Homework in the calendar above. Skills Practice is due Thursday at 8:00 PM; notes are due Tuesday and Thursday at 11:00 PM.
- Jump to the page. Each assignment links straight to its page in the Skills Practice book or the Student Edition. If the book opens at page 1 on your device, go to the printed page number named in the assignment — not the PDF page counter.
- Complete and turn it in. Plan about one hour for Skills Practice, do it only after the lesson has been taught, and turn it in using your current class directions by 8:00 PM Thursday. Turn in notes in the Assessment Center under Assignment Turn-In by 11:00 PM on the due day.
How Assessments & Homework Appear
The structure of the year is fixed here. The day-to-day work flows in on top of it.
The school-year backbone above — instructional days, breaks, and grading periods — is set. Assessment, homework, and project events are authored by Dr. Ijezie in the STEM Studio admin portal, tagged by course, and layer onto the matching dates — multi-day items span their full range. Algebra I and Geometry homework has its own Course Homework view: weekly Skills Practice assignments link to their page in the Skills Practice book, and Tuesday and Thursday notes link to their pages in the Student Edition and to Assignment Turn-In in the Assessment Center. Filter by a course to follow a single track. If no events have been posted yet (or while the calendar is briefly offline), this page simply shows the school year — events appear here automatically once added. Quiz, test, and project dates are also posted on ParentSquare.
