The Ascent Lexicon

More than 3,600 searchable terms from the Scholar’s Ascent Master Lexicon and your current courses. Explore prefixes, roots, suffixes, word origins, categories, meanings, and lesson connections in one place.

Learn the word, not only the definition. Filter the full Master Lexicon by subject, category, or language of origin, and open Word study to examine prefixes, roots, suffixes, breakdowns, and memory hooks. Course entries also show module, lesson day, and TEKS. Unverified definitions are clearly marked instead of guessed.

Jump to a course

Each link opens the lexicon filtered to that course. Terms taught on the course's own module pages are listed first.

How to use it well

Search by any part of the word

Type a word, word part, origin, or category — asym finds asymptote, bio finds related roots and terms, and Greek finds words with that origin.

Open "Word study"

Under many terms are explicit prefix, root, suffix, word breakdown, origin, etymology, mnemonic, example, and fun-fact fields.

Use it beside your notes

In Note Studio, open the Lexicon tool to search without leaving your note and insert a term and its definition right where you are writing.
